Founder.

We like to see Pedreira Shoes from the eyes of our founder: with pride but aware of the sacrifice and hard work that it took him to make Pedreira Shoes what it is nowadays.

João da Cunha e Silva was born in 1918 and has always been interested in the shoemaking art, learning the cobbler craft at the age of 14 with the master Carvalho Dias.

João da Cunha e Silva was born in 1918 and has always been interested in the shoemaking art, learning the cobbler craft at the age of 14 with the master Carvalho Dias.

A few years later, thanks to his effort and discipline, he finally took his first customer and hired three employees to work for him.

This is where everything began and, in 1935, Pedreira Shoes was born.

Time, dedication and commitment were good friends of João da Cunha e Silva and Pedreira Shoes has been growing and evolving, with the help of his sons, who are now in charge.

Our founder passed way in 2012 but his resilience, vitality and consistency will always be honored and remembered.
